Some Christmas Magic?

Rumors are swirling that Brett Favre is interested in helping out the Bears and their decimated Quarterback situation. I know all the haters out there are going to be sighing and crying about Favre finding his way into the news again, but this legitimately could be a possibility for the Bears. Unfortunately, Lovie Smith will be too much of a chicken man to pull off a "risky" move like signing Favre for a playoff push. But I really don't think the move is risky at all. If the Bears stick with Caleb Hanie at QB, the absolute maximum for them would be sneaking into the playoffs and getting housed in their first round road game.
With Favre, I think the Bears at least give themselves a CHANCE to make a run. Sure there's a large possibility that they'll go down in some of the biggest flames you'll ever see, but I know for a fact I'll tune in to watch. At least this gives them an opportunity to make a run for a Superbowl, and isn't that what you want as a NFL franchise? Nobody remembers teams for "having good years" and making the playoffs, they remember outstanding performances and the teams that actually win the Superbowl. And I've heard some comments from Bears players who say that Mike Martz's offense will be too complicated for Favre to figure out in a limited time period. That's why you should stick with Caleb Hanie? I would rather have the gunslinger drawing up plays in the mud of the huddle than the intricacies of a Mike Martz offense being run by a bottom of the barrel QB like Hanie.

Even if you want to argue against the actual effectiveness of the Favre move, you can't deny the excitement/great TV factor that Favre brings to the table. Hate him or love him, the guy keeps you on the edge of your seat. And what would be a better storyline(Ok, maybe Tebow) than Brett Favre coming into snowy Lambeau field on Christmas Day to try to deny the prodigy, Aaron Rodgers, from leading Favre's former team to an undefeated season. The magic that would be on that field for the Week 16 matchup would be absolutely undeniable. Even Santa asked for this matchup on his Christmas List.
